Lolita Blog Carnival: Underrated Colors

There are a lot of staple colors you will see when you initially look for Lolita fashion. These colors are very much saturated into the sub-culture to the point that you rarely ever see colors outside of it.

Occasionally though, there are coordinates that display these oddball colors. Throughout the time of doing Frills Friday on this blog, I have seen a bunch of alternative colors pop up!

Yellows and Oranges

I personally do not wear orange or yellow in general because of my skin tone - olive skin paired with these colors make me look sickly, at least in my opinion. I have seen others coordinate these colors beautifully. I think these colors are not popular in general, and that is why you do not see them as often in coordinates.

Dark or Olive Greens

I actually own two green pieces of my own; I really find green to be one of those not loved enough colors. It really has such a statement on its own, and especially the darker tones, just looks beautiful on anyone.

Dark or Royal Purples

Royal purple and plum colors are scarce in the Lolita scene from brands, but this dark tone is stunning against a bright color contrast. I have only seen a dark purple Lolita dress go up on the sales community once, although I am sure it has gone up a couple more times than that, it sure is hard to find.
